Day Without a Bag Youth Leadership Training
Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM (PST)
Los Angeles, CA
Hey students! Need a project for your club or service hours? Care about the environmnet? Want your class, club or team to make a huge difference? Join us for this leadership training to learn how to get plastic bags off our streets and out of our rivers and ocean. We need your help to educate our communities on why this is so important. You will learn activities and strategies to free your community from plastic bags.
WHAT IS A DAY WITHOUT A BAG?
A Day Without a Bag is an educational grassroots event coordinated by Heal the Bay that involves cities throughout Los Angeles County.
The impact of plastic on the marine environment and our communities is significant and we have the option to dramatically reduce the use of plastic bags—why not make every day, A Day Without a Bag?
Almost 4 million residents in California now live in communities that have banned plastic grocery bags and an additional 5 million live in cities actively working on bag ban ordinances. When these ordinances pass, one in three Californians will have made the switch to reusable bags.
You can help lead the way!
Check out http://www.metro.net/ to plan your trip using public transportation.
